Throwback Thursday: “School in Quarantine”

It’s hard to believe that we have now reached the 3 year mark after the “Spring Break that never ended” in 2020. During that spring semester as the entire world shut down due to Covid19, every school had to move online and to move quickly. While it’s true that Equip and the Center for Distance Education in Bible and Ministry was already fully online at that time, most of Harding University was just like other schools who had to pivot overnight. Looking back, with all of the challenges we faced and mistakes we made, I’m proud of how my colleagues and our institution adjusted and did our best to hold our Harding community together. Professors and students learned to Zoom, and new pandemic related vocabulary flooded our minds and online algorithms.

One bright moment that we experienced at Harding’s College of Bible and Ministry was Dr. Swindle’s parody release of “School in Quarantine” from the Dolly Parton and Kenny Rodger’s hit “Islands in the Stream.” For Throwback Thursday, let’s revisit this moment of brilliance.
